Run to the Beat restriction data
22/10/2012

The ‘Run to the Beat’ half marathon will take place this Sunday enforcing road closures across London.

Lane closures and turn restrictions will also be in place to prevent traffic entering the course.

Mapping specialists PIE have captured route restriction information and impacted postcodes, available as datasets to freight operators and local authorities for routing and operational purposes.

Restrictions on race roads and supporting roads are in place on Sunday from 6am until 4pm with the race scheduled to begin at 9:45am. The Run to the Beat event is expected to attract around 18,500 participants with large numbers of spectators also attending. The race starts and ends at the O2 following a route around Docklands.

PIE Mapping has put together data detailing the affected postcodes, closed roads and the inaccessible areas based on day and night time restrictions. This data is available via the PIE Data Exchange (www.piedataexchange.com/shop/category/sporting-events/) as well as TfL’s Freight Journey Planner - http://freightplanner.tfl.gov.uk.
